One of the most important aspects
of the spa program at Hosteria Las Quintas is the integration
of their eco-tours as part of the spa experience. In fact, Hosteria
Las Quintas is known to be the first to implement eco-tours
in the southern hemisphere |
Tucked away in a lush valley surrounded
by mountains in colonial Central Mexico, Hosteria Las Quintas
Spa is located just one hour and 30 minutes from Mexico City
in Cuernavaca, known as the "City of Eternal Spring," with its
average year-round temperate sunny days of 78-80 degrees. Our
elegant walled estate offers the perfect ambiance ...

| How to Meditate by Judith Jackson Sit comfortably,
wearing a shawl or blanket to keep you warm. Scent the
room with a calming essence, and play soft music. As you
move through the first half of the meditation, you will
be creating a sensory environment for the ultimate experience.
1. Inhale the Scent Close your eyes and deeply breathe
the scented air. As the odor neurons lining your nasal
passages transmit the fragrance deep within your brain,
feel its message in your entire being. Be scent-aware
for two minutes. |
| 2. Absorb the Music Listen to the music.
Imagine the receptors in your ears registering every note.
Tune into and identify each instrument and its unique
sound. Do you hear violins or cellos? Breathe deeply as
you analyze the music. Concentrate wholly on the music
for two minutes. |
| 3. Explore Taste Now awaken your sense
of taste. Every taste - sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent,
or astringent - has its own territory on the tongue. Bathe
your tongue in digestive juices stored in the mouth. Let
the tip register imagined sweetness, the back bitterness,
the sides sourness, the surface saltiness. Savor these
imagined tastes for two minutes. |
| 4. Experience Touch We need to touch our
world in order to relate to it, to touch our bodies to
know that we are functioning. With your fingertips, gently
stroke the fabric of your clothing. Is it smooth, rough,
warm, or cool? Is the texture interesting? Feel your body's
contact with the chair or mat on which you are sitting.
Fully experience these tactile sensations for two minutes. |
| 5. Look Inward The eye is your camera on
the world. But to go deeply into the sight sense, your
eyes must be closed. Imagine that you are breathing light
into your eyes. The light forms an image in your "mind's
eye". Choose an image that brings you a sense of deep
peace. See, for instance, a green hill covered with brightly
colored flowers, or a clear blue sky. Focus on your chosen
scene for two minutes. |
| 6. Knowing The deepest experience will come when you
tune into your knowing sense (or intuition). This sense
talks to the conscious and subconscious you, and communicates
with every cell in your body. For ten minutes, turn your
attention inward to that peaceful place where conscious
thoughts cease. If a worldly thought intrudes, focus on
your breath. |
